IPOA probing police assault on UoN students

IPOA has launched investigations after police allegedly beat up students in the University of Nairobi during Thursday's demonstrations.

A shocking video emerged capturing anti-riot police assaulting and beating students using batons, whips and kicks at their halls of residence.

Students were heard yelling and crying from the beatings of the officers.

Some of the students were seen already subdued and were lying on the ground while others were heard chanting "No Babu no learning".

This was moments after they had protested the arrest of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

The MP was on Thursday released on a Sh200,000 cash bail after being charged with causing a voter grievous harm.
