Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) |
Cotton noted that Hillary Clinton should face the same consequences that any federal employee who behave similarly would face including criminal prosecution.
He said, "We should have an independent voice particularly after Loretta Lynch met with Bill Clinton the spouse of the target and is a target himself of an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation."
Cotton noted that more damning than what the FBI director recommended 'as a legal matter' is "the facts of the case that he laid out. We now know that Hillary Clinton told repeated lies about her use of an unsecured server including our most sensitive national security secrets. This is a long pattern with Hillary Clinton going back to the nineteen nineties and investigations into her husband's administration and into the lies she told to the faces of the the families of the Benghazi fallen." He added that he didn't think the "American people are going to trust her to handle our nation's most sensitive secrets and to be the commander-in-chief."
He also addressed Comey's comments about Hillary Clinton's Actions: "I would say that more damning than what the FBI director recommended as a legal matter yesterday are the facts of the case that he laid out, We now know that Hillary Clinton told repeated lies about her use of an unsecured server including our most sensitive national security secrets. This is a long pattern with Hillary Clinton going back to the nineteen nineties and investigations into her husband's administration's and into the lies she told to the faces of the families of the Benghazi fallen and I just don't think the American people are going to trust her ... to handle our nation's most sensitive secrets and to be the commander-in-chief."
Cotton noted, "Let me say what that means in plain English, [if others in government had done this] they would lose their job and lose their security clearance."
Hillary Clinton based on Comey's comments of her mishandling classified information would not be qualified to employed now by the Federal Government. A large majority of a President's work involves classified information.
When asked about Hillary's criticism of Trumps demeanor, Cotton replied, "I don't think the American people are going to give her the job ... by her saying that he's "simply unqualified and temperamentally unfit to be our president"."
Cotton noted that, "Hillary Clinton exposed our nation's most sensitive national security secrets to foreign adversaries. We now know that it's almost certain that they got access to her private server. We even know that she took her unsecured personal email devices to the territories of hostile powers. To give you a sense of just how amazing that is, I as a mere junior senator never take my personal electronic devices to any country not even to Canada much less too adversarial countries."
Cotton summed up his opinion that Clinton's lack of judgment in the handling of classified documents now "disqualifies her to be commander-in-chief."
