No, The First Christians Did NOT Practice Socialism (No Matter What Your Professor Claimed)

by Mark Tapscott HillFaith: Millennials and, especially, Generation Zers are more open to "socialism" than any previous generation of Americans, according to surveys like this one from Axxios/Survey Monkey. If it's true, it's significant because so many congressional staffers are in the Millennial and Gen Z age ranges.

That shouldn't come as a surprise, given the typical college professor in recent years is certainly far more favorably disposed to socialism and other wealth redistribution ideologies than was the case in the years before the Millennials began showing up on campuses.

One of the most frequently heard nostrums about the early Christians in the period immediately after the resurrection of Jesus was that members of the church practiced what we today would call socialism. But Professor Sean McDowell of Biola University presents two huge reasons why that nostrum simply isn't true:
