Murathe hatches plot for mass walkout from Jubilee
Former Vice Chairman David Murathe is engineering a mass walkout of Jubilee members opposed to Deputy President William Ruto's Presidential bid.
Murathe who unexpectedly resigned as the party's vice chairman on Sunday said those opposed to Ruto will form a new coalition that will stop the DP from succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"We are ready to form a new coalition and I can tell you for sure it will crash Ruto and his group. I can tell him for free that he will be lucky to an opposition leader," Murathe told the Star on Monday.

Thousands to get jobs as health volunteers in UHC push
Thousands of Kenyans will be hired as community health volunteers in the next one year as the government rolls out universal health coverage.
The workers will be trained by the national government but paid by the counties Sh2,000 each, every month.
Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki said the volunteers will be based in their own villages and would work just about two hours daily.

Moses Kuria gains support as Uhuru dismisses Mt Kenya
Statements by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria that President Uhuru Kenyatta has neglected his home region is the position of the people on the ground, a section of clergy and gospel musicians has said.
They said this even as Uhuru while speaking in Mombasa dismissed those demanding projects in the region as "Washenzi" arguing that his duty was to develope the whole country.

DPP withdraws charges against 11 susepcts in NYS case
Deputy Director of the National Youth Service Sammy Michuki has narrowly escaped prosecution over the NYS season two Scam.
This is after the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions withdrew the charges against him and ten others.
The DPP has discretion under section 87 (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code to withdraw charges at any time before an accused person is called upon to make a defence.
However, such withdrawal does not bar subsequent charges against the accused persons.

Interior ministry digitizes police services
The Interior Ministry yesterday launched a Digital Human Resource Information System to speed up processes and improve transparency.
The system will enhance the quick and efficient processing of transfers, leave and promotions
The launch happened in Kilifi presided over by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’ and his ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett was the first officer to be registered.
