IEBC has acknowledged that CEO Ezra Chiloba signed a contract with OT-Morpho to avert delays of the October 26 vote.
Communication Manager Andrew Limo told the Star on Saturday that deal was reached after a series on meetings with the contractor.
"The only way to ensure that elections happen as scheduled is to have suppliers of critical infrastructure on board like yesterday," he said.
Limo said the meetings were centred on the level of support the technology service provider required for the fresh presidential election.
"This culminated into an addendum to the contract that was signed on Thursday evening after negotiation were concluded as per the procurement law."
The statement came after NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi accused Chiloba of conspiring with OT-Morpho to inflate the cost of conducting the fresh election.
"Jana, Chiloba aliweka sahihi ya pili na OT-Morpho ati wasimamie uchaguzi...tuko tayari kurudia uchaguzi lakini tunataka yeye na wenzake waende nyumbani," he said.

In a statement to newsrooms, Mudavadi demanded that IEBC and OT-Morpho explain to Kenyans how the figure was arrived at.
Mudavadi said the two have pulled another expensive fraud on Kenyans even before they can address the irregularities and illegalities in the August 8 elections.
