Babu Owino's supporters protested outside the Milimani court on Wednesday, demanding his release after a second night in cell over apparent insults to the President.
Owino, whose real name is Paul Ongili, was arraigned in Nairobi for apparently referring to President Uhuru Kenyatta as 'mtoto wa mbwa'.
He addressed charged NASA supporters on September 24 during a rally in Kawangware, Dagoreti North, that chief Raila Odinga and other Opposition leaders attended.
On Tuesday, the Embakasi East MP denied charges of subversion, abusing the President and an alternative count of incitement to violence.

They also shouted 'Chiloba ndani...Babu nje (Chiloba in, Babu out)'.
Raila Odinga's Opposition coalition wants IEBC chief Executive Ezra Chiloba out of office for them to participate in the August 8 general election.
The Supreme canceled President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory last month so he and NASA's Raila will return to the ballot on October 26.
Some members of the public have said Chiloba and other secretariat members should be prosecuted for allegedly helping Jubilee Party to rig the vote.
The DPP ordered the DCI and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate electoral agency officials.

Anti-riot police arrived while the demonstrators danced and sang in their demand for justice.
They tried to calm the crowd down but Babu's supporters insisted they want him released.
Babu may lose his seat as he is facing a prison sentence of up to seven years and six months in prison. If found guilty of incitement, the newly elected parliamentarian will serve a sentence of about six years.
The prosecution does not want him granted bail, reasons including his safety and the probability of interfering with witnesses.
A ruling will be delivered today.
