Protesters on Wednesday torched Syokimau AP camp where lawyer Willie Kimani and two others were held before they were murdered.
Kiman, 32, was a human rights lawyer who worked with the International Justice Mission.
He went missing alongside his client boda boda operator Josephat Mwenda and cab driver Joseph Muiruri after a session at Mavoko law courts.
Four police officers linked to the deaths of the three were arrested and detained amid investigations.
They are Fredrick Leliman, Stephen Chebulet, Silvia Wanjiku and Leornard Maina. Maina is based at the camp.
More than 1,000 people had promised to hold peaceful demonstrations in Mlolongo area on Wednesday but this was not the case.
The protesters were led by Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Kathiani's Robert Mbui and Peter Maduki of the East African legislative assembly.
The group that included boda boda operators marched from Mavoko courts to the Administration Police camp, causing a snarl up.
A witness told the Star they looted before setting the camp on fire.
"They stormed into the container and removed valuables before setting the whole place on fire," the witness told the Star.
Officers in houses near the camp tried in vain to put out the fire. No other structures were affected.
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet ordered for the immediate arrest of the perpetrators as "chaos will not be accepted".
Local and international human rights groups, lawyers and members of the public have been holding demonstrations against extrajudicial killings and in a push for justice for the three.
