Don't Call Orlando a "Mass Shooting"

State of Daniel: By now you've heard about the terrible tragedy at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with the victims and their loved ones.

Immediately after the shooting, we all had a lot of questions. Was this a hate crime? Was this ISIS? Was Omar Mateen part of ISIS or any other Islamic group? Was it a terrorist attack? If so, was it domestic homegrown terror or directed by a foreign group?

In this video, I give my thoughts on all of these issues and more. But one thing I will say: while I believe that most Muslims are peaceful and loving people, there is a large portion of Islamic faith that is not compatible with gay rights or the west.

This shooting was clearly a hate crime against the gay community. However, it was also a terrorist attack against all of us.
