I saw Chebet last night,
I saw her through the window of my hut,
She came in a short skirt and a blouse,
And a tin of boiled cassava in her hands.
But sadly - my door was locked,
I was kissing another lover.
She knocked and knocked and knocked.
Then messaged me to ask if I love her.
I saw Chebet last night,
But she never told me she'd be coming.
Her messages filled me with fright,
She said that my baby is in her tummy.
My fingers started to shake,
When my lover wanted to know who was knocking
But I told her that outside there's a snake,
She rolled her eyes and said "you are joking."
I saw Chebet last night,
I through a crack of my wooden door.
If only I was loyal to her heart,
She would not have been found dead on the floor.
