Three Options In 2016: Establishment, Socialist Or Prosperity

by Herman Cain: My comments at this weekend's Donald Trump rally in Georgia.

I had the honor of giving some remarks this past weekend at Donald Trump's really in Norcross, Georgia. As most of you know there are six candidates to whom I'm favorable in this election cycle: Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Marco Rubio, Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz. So my appearance there did not constitute an endorsement specifically of Trump.

Nevertheless, I was thrilled to be there, and my comments reflect why Trump is one of my Pick Six. Here's a summation of what I said:

The USA is at a fork in the road to its future.

One road leads to more establishment incrementalism. One road leads to more socialism. And one road leads to real solutions for a better USA.

An establishment presidential candidate would give us more incrementalism, when the problems are growing at a much faster pace. The complicated and incomprehensible tax code, the disastrous Unaffordable Care Act, a diminishing military, an out of control national debt, energy independence delayed and pent up economic growth cannot be liberated with incrementalism.

We have already seen over the last fifty years that incrementalism does not work. The USA needs foot stomping, culture changing, solutions-driven leadership in the White House.

I know that not all of the Republican presidential candidates are stomping the same, but they are all stomping to change the status quo in Washington, D.C. Maybe that's why the top three Republican presidential candidates in the polls are all political "outsiders".

But what does that mean? It means the "outsiders" have connected with Main Street USA. We are sick and tired of establishment incrementalism.

The Democrats running for the presidential nomination are all socialist. That means they are promising "more free stuff" without telling people that it also means less liberty. That's not the road most of us want, because we want back more of our liberties that have already been compromised. And they can keep the free stuff.

But the road that inspires me and keeps me optimistic is the road that leads to a better America. It's the road less traveled and the road least talked about. Replacing or simplifying the tax code, building up our military, restructuring Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, taking a hatchet to waste, fraud and abuse of our tax dollars, unleashing energy independence, and a real and respected foreign policy are all cornerstones of the America we can be!

But it takes the right leadership! That's why most polls show political "outsiders" leading in the polls. Establishment candidates can't get us there. Socialist candidates can't get us there. Candidates who understand prosperity and leadership can get us there.

There are three roads we can take – establishment, socialism or prosperity.

I will be voting for the road to prosperity in 2016.
