Joey Muthengi former Capital Fm presenter has called it quits at Ebru Africa TV on Wednesday for allegedly falling out with the management.
Joey joined the station in September 2013 and was hosting a show known as Sugar and spice which was an entertainment show that brought on Kenyan celebrities to talk about various issues in their lives and also indulge in an array of African cuisines made by some of the top chefs in the country.
She revealed this sad news to her fans on her social media pages saying that although she had a good two years at Ebru. The station had sadly made it clear that they did not share her vision and future plans for the show thus they had no choice but to amicably part ways.
She wrote,
"I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you for a great 2 seasons of 'Sugar & Spice' on Ebru Africa TV. It's been a joy hosting the show and a pleasure meeting such eclectic guests and personalities on a daily basis. While I would have loved to continue on as your host, certain recent developments have prevented me from doing so. Sadly, the management with whom I had worked with since September of 2014 made it clear that they were no longer supportive of my vision for the show, thus I saw it fit for us to amicably part ways.
In the 2 years that I have spent solely exploring the world of television, I have come to realize that my passion indeed lies in several fields of entertainment. I am thereby looking forward to a future which allows me the freedom to make a return to my original love of radio when the proper opportunity presents itself,
Thanks again for your continued patience and support throughout this journey.
Thanks again for your continued patience and support throughout this journey.
Peace & Love,
-Joey."
The former Tusker project fame presenter however is not the first to have a misunderstanding with the management. Late last year former Citizen Tv anchor Michelle Morgan who is now at K24 left Ebru because of issues with the working conditions and payment.
