Speaking to BBC Hausa, the 58 year old Dangote said that after he is done building the refinery that he is building in Lagos,he will buy the much sought after Arsenal FC for whatever the price they ask for.
"When we get this refinery on track, I will have enough time and enough resources to pay what they are asking for .There were a couple of us who were rushing to buy, and we thought with the prices then, the people who were interested in selling were trying to go for a kill.We backtracked, because we were very busy doing other things, especially our industrialisation,"he said.
Dangote who has been an Arsenal fan since the 1980s also revealed that he believes that a different ownership for the club will make them more successful on the pitch.
The businessman is currently ranked 67th on the world's richest list by Forbes.
