A man just covered himself in 109kg of bees

Yesterday, it was revealed that a man planked for four hours and 28 minutes to earn a Guinness World Record, which is not an enviable thing to do.
Even less enviable, however, is covering yourself in 109kg of bees.
That's what Chinese beekeeper Gao Bingguo did in Tai'an city in an attempt to set a new record.

Gao Bingguo, 55, is no stranger to bees, having kept them for over 35 years, but having several hundred thousand of them piled on top of you is something that not even Bingguo could truly prepare for. Organizers began the record attempt on early Monday (25 May 2015) morning by placing a number of queen bees on to his body which would help to attract the worker bees. Boxes of bees were later dumped at his feet in increasingly large quantities, slowly crawling up and on to his body. By the end of the attempt Bingguo had about 1.09 million of the insects which weigh about 109.05kg crawling all over him but despite being stung over 2,000 times and his body temperature rising to over 60 degrees Celsius, he managed to survive the ordeal and set a new world record replacing the previous of 85.5kg.
