County to hold more cultural festivals

Tourism players in Lamu and the county government have launched a campaign to revive the industry. Tourism suffered a setback following attacks by suspected al Shabaab militia in Mpeketoni and other parts of the county last year. The national government imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in July, which it partially lifted last month. Tourism executive Samia Omar yesterday said they will host major cultural activities.
