State to revisit hiring of 10,000 police

THE government is still planning to hire more than 10,000 police officers after an earlier recruitment was nullified by the High Court, Deputy President William Ruto has said. Presiding over the National Goat Auction at Kimalel in Baringo county on Saturday, Ruto said the number of armed bandits and cattle rustlers calls for the strengthening of the police force. He said the government will buy more vehicles and guns for police units to tackle the cattle rustling.
