THE government, through the National Drought Management Authority, has disbursed more than Sh2.4 million to reformed warriors in West Pokot county. The funds will enable the former warriors to engage in alternative sources of income, as opposed to cattle rustling. Speaking on Monday in Kapenguria after handing over the cheques to seven groups, West Pokot NDMA coordinator Gabriel Mbogo said the groups had surrendered their guns and registered their groups for linking up with donors.
