The year did not begin well for Raila, who as leader of both the Orange Democratic Movement party and the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy, is the ranking opposition chieftain. It was the year that Kenyans saw a side of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's political persona that is unpopular even in the epicentre of his Luo Nyanza support base.
