That's actually pretty striking in that more Republicans oppose impeachment than Democrats support it. Overall, support for impeachment is down 5% to 45%.
Importantly, the President's approval rating of 43% is stable, even as Quinnipiac's poll has the President's approval slightly higher at just above 44%, which is the highest it has ever been in that poll.
The key to finding out why Democrat support for impeachment has collapsed might be found in this data from CNN:
The Quinnipiac polling has been most interesting in that the trend has steadily moved against impeachment. It is at 6% more voters against it, holding steady from last week. At the end of November, it was a 3% margin against impeachment. At the end of October it was 2% more favoring impeachment.
The CNN and Quinnipiac polls come on the heels of polls from USA Today and NPR with majorities opposed to impeachment.
