One day after an emergency appendectomy, Trevor Noah was back at his Daily Show anchor desk, taping a new episode set that aired in the States on Thursday night.
Comedy Central said on Thursday that the Daily Show host was back at work, with actress Regina King as his scheduled guest.
The Daily Show tweeted; "TONIGHT! The premiere of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah without Trevor Noah's Appendix".
According to a statement released by Comedy Central on Wednesday Trevor underwent an emergency appendectomy.
"We're happy to report that the procedure went well and he is currently recuperating from surgery," Comedy Central said in a statement.
An encore episode of The Daily Show will be aired in the States on Wednesday night instead.
Noah took over as host of The Daily Show in September, succeeding Jon Stewart, who stepped down in August after 15 years.
