Brendan Rogers who was Liverpool FC's manager since 2012 has been sacked with immediate effect.
Apparently the decision to fire the 42 year old manager and former player was made even before Liverpool's Sunday draw with Everton.
According to a statement released by the club,"although this has been a difficult decision, we believe it provides us with the best opportunity for success on the pitch,"
"The search for a new manager is underway and we hope to make an appointment in a decisive and timely manner," continued Liverpool's statement.
Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti have been rumoured to have been the frontrunners to taking over from Rodgers.
Currently Liverpool is at 10th place on the Premier league table.
