Actress Arrested At The Airpot In Possession Of 15Kgs Of Drugs

South African actress Mmatjatji Malatji was recently nabbed at OR Tambo International airport with possession of 15.4kg ephedrine valued over USD200,000.

According to News24.com, the actress who has featured in a number of soap operas such as Isidingo and Scandal was nabbed on Sunday, September 27 as she got in from an Abu Dhabi flight trying to smuggle the drugs into the country.

One of the luggage she carried showed 'suspicious images' which led to the search, South Africa Revenue Spokesperson Luther Lebelo said.

Malatji, 29, appeared at the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, September 29 but her hearing has been moved to October 7.

She will remain in custody of the authorities till the next hearing.
