The Government has retreated in its strategy to deal with civil society through the controversial NGO Bill that could see foreign funding reduced to a maximum of 15 per cent. The state announced the formation of a task force with seven members to monitor the proposed amendments of the Public Benefits Organisations Act 2013. The team, gazetted by Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru, will be headed by former nominated MP Sophia Abdi and is expected to present its report to the Cabinet in three months.
