A Nairobi court has ordered a carpenter who sensationally claimed he was part of the gang that kidnapped Embu county assembly speaker Kariuki Mate to be examined to Mathari Mental Hosptal. This followed an urgent application by Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko, through senior state counsel Duncan Ondimu, that Joseph Ng'ang'a, alias Ndere, 34, be examined by psychiatrists to ascertain his state of mind before preferring criminal charges against him.
